Hi all, my name is Yakir Englander, the Jerusalem director of Kids4Peace. For me Kids4Peace is not a choice, but an obligation. After three years in the army, I understood that power has not been the right answer for a long time. More than that, I feel very deeply, that we have to do peace. Not only for our kids (as many used to say) but for us. For any human being, Israeli or Palestinian, can save her/his life by doing peace. For me, Kids4Peace is a proof that we can do it. Groups of children and parents meet every two weeks for three hours, we spend the summer together and then many of the kids come to the continuation program and show that we can be friends in the simplest meaning of that word. We don't try to be nice, but to be ourselves and all the other to do the same. This year we started the Continuation Program. One of the goals is to volunteer in the community. We met with kids from an orphan school and tried to touch the soul of more and more people in Jerusalem and the Palestinian area. My wish is that more people will look on our kids and on our amazing staff team and learn for them what we all have to do. We don't agree on everything, but we can listen and talk, together.
